Friends of Pastorius park is always looking for new volunteers to get involved with our efforts. Not only is volunteering a great way to contribute to maintaining a much-loved community space, but is a great way to meet your neighbors and stay in shape!

Volunteer Tasks May Include:

  • Weeding and weed whacking
  • Spreading mulch and maintaining new planting beds
  • Tree care and regular watering during drought
  • Clearing walkways of sticks and branches

Upcoming Volunteer Events

Spring 2024 Clean Up
Saturday, April 6, 2024 (rain date April 7)
9:00am - 12:00pm

Come help us with seasonal tasks as we get the park ready for spring. We will be clearing and hauling invasive brush, and raking sweet gum balls (those pesky, spiky seedpods). Tools provided, gloves recommended, wheel barrows welcome.

Arbor Day Tree Trimming
Friday, April 26, 2024
9:00am - 12:00pm

The area’s top professional arborists will be on-site pruning, trimming, and caring for the park’s trees. 

Volunteer Tips

What to Wear / Bring:

  • Work gloves
  • Sturdy boots/sneakers – no open toed shoes
  • Long pants. Protect yourself against ticks, poison ivy and stinging nettle
  • Clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Sun protection
  • Reusable water bottle
